Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation Welcomes New Board Members
SAINT JOHN – Donors to the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation are well represented by its Board’s new executive and appointment of two new Directors. Joining a dedicated group of community-minded New Brunswickers are Dr. Colin Barry and Mr. Dean Mullin.
Dr. Barry is an Interventional Cardiologist at the renowned New Brunswick Heart Centre (NBHC). He earned his medical degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1997 and trained in Internal Medicine at Memorial and Cardiology at Dalhousie University.
He was certified as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine (2001) and in Cardiology (2003).
He also completed a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at The Ottawa Heart Institute in 2004. At that time, he made his way back home to Saint John to begin work at the NBHC. His interests include research, acute myocardial infarction, and he is involved with The Canadian Association of Interventional Cardiology.
Mr. Mullin served on the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation Board as a member of the Auxiliary (Brighten Group) and the Foundation is pleased he will continue to use his talents and skills on the Board as a Director for a three-year term.
A Chartered Professional Accountant, Mr. Mullin is well respected in the accounting/tax field and is a partner at Jamieson Mullin Chartered Professional Accountants in Quispamsis.
He is also the current Vice-Chair of the Saint John Region Chamber of Commerce, Treasurer of the KV Committee for Disabled Persons and the YMCA Endowment Board and has previously been the Chair of the YMCA of Greater Saint John.
Mr. Mullin, originally from Bathurst, is a graduate of Mount Allison with a Bachelor of Commerce.
The Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation is extending a warm and sincere thank you to two departing members from its Board.
Mr. Steve Titus is the longest currently serving member of the Board. Dr. Mike Howlett is an Emergency Doctor at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Both have given their time and expertise to shape the success of the Foundation. The Foundation and its Board wish them well.
