Campbellton Region Returns To Orange Phase As Third Covid-19 Case Reported
FREDERICTON – New Brunswick is reporting a third active case of COVID-19 in the Campbellton region and it is related to the other two active cases in the area.
As a result, Public Health is putting the Campbellton Zone 5 region back into the Orange phase of the recovery.
The rest of the province will remain in the Yellow phase.
Premier Blaine Higgs says the latest case is travel-related and he calls the individual “irresponsible.”
“This is a situation where a medical professional, who travelled to Quebec for personal reasons, was not forthcoming about their reasons for travel upon returning to New Brunswick and they did not self-isolate as a result,” he said.
The medical professional works at the Campbellton Hospital and contact tracing is underway.
Higgs says this case is evidence that public health guidelines must still be followed otherwise you put your family, friends and fellow New Brunswickers at risk.
