N.B. Chiropractors Reopen Using Measures To Protect Staff And Patients
MONCTON – Many chiropractors in the province reopened their practices this past week.
Frances LeBlanc, chief executive officer of the New Brunswick Chiropractors Association, says patients will notice changes for their upcoming appointments.
“You may be asked to wait in the car before your appointment or come just one time. Wait rooms may also be reconfigured to allow for physical distancing when possible and also have additional signage to help with patients flow,” LeBlanc said.
Patients will also have to complete a questionnaire before they are seen.
“They will be asked questions before they come to make sure they are asymptomatic. They will also be asked to clean their hands. Chiropractors will also look different, wearing masks, gloves and even goggles in some cases,” LeBlanc said.
LeBlanc says the association made sure that chiropractors have been provided with the necessary personal protective equipment for their equipment and staff.
They will also be working with the clinics to ensure they have taken all the steps necessary to ensure the safety of their clients.
“We encourage our members to explain to their patients, including children, why they are wearing masks. They are really being worn to be able to prevent infection and protect their health. These are being worn and a more preventative measure,” LeBlanc said.
