See Sight Jetboats Cancels 2020 Season
SAINT JOHN — A jetboat tourism company that gives visitors tours of Saint John’s Reversing Falls Rapids is staying ashore for the 2020 season.
See Sight Jetboats announced Monday the cancellation of its 2020 operating season for jet boat tours on the Reversing Falls Rapids and dock space rental in the city. The company plans to resume operations in 2021.
The company had originally planned to open for the 2020 season in May. The company had also planned to introduce a new thrill ride jet boat tour this year and have a launch party. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, these plans had to be pushed back.
It came to the decision due to investments and planning ahead that need to go into getting ready for operations each year. The company relies on travelers to the area, including those that come in on cruise ships. With so much uncertainty around the current situation, the company has chosen not to continue with getting ready for the 2020 operating season.
See Sight Jetboats plans to reopen for tours and dock space rental for the Spring 2021 season and to continue with plans to introduce a new thrill ride jet boat tour.
“The situation is disappointing but ultimately this is a decision we had to make and did not make it lightly,” said John Albrecht, See Sight’s manager of Eastern Canada, in a release.
“We’re looking forward to our next season in 2021 and introducing our new thrill ride to Saint John and the visitors here once this crisis is behind us.”
