Energia Ventures Seeks Startups For Accelerator Program
FREDERICTON – Energia Ventures, the energy, smart grid, cleantech and cybersecurity accelerator, is looking for startups to be in the third cohort of its accelerator.
“Energia offers companies in their early-adopter stage mentorship, training, support and access to investors to accelerate their business,” said Joe Allen, the Managing Director for Accelerators at the J. Herbert Smith Centre for Technology Management and Entrepreneurship, in a release.
The accelerator program, offered to participants for free, is supported by the centre, which is run out of the University of New Brunswick.
It will take place from September 14 until December 9 this year, closed with a final demo day. Participants will get expert advice, intensive mentoring, educational programming, business support, as well as seed funding for their startups in exchange for an equity portion.
“We realize that COVID-19 has made a challenging new environment, but we anticipate that life will be back to a semblance of normal by September,” said Allen. “The end goal is to create stable, high-growth potential companies worthy of venture capital investments on a compressed timeline.”
The program will run out of Fredericton, so participants will have to be based from there for the duration of the accelerator. However, Energia can help find accommodations and assist with visas for international applicants.
The deadline to apply is May 15. Interested entrepreneurs can apply through F6S, an online tool that connects startups around the world with funders and programs.
