Zio’s Pizza Moves To New Fredericton Location With Better Seating, More Menu Items
FREDERICTON – Zio’s Pizza, on the North End of Fredericton, has moved to 146 Main St. with a larger menu and plans to get a liquor license.
It was previously located at 127 Riverside Drive with very few seats. The new location opened about two weeks ago, has up to 32 seats.
Mark MacLean, who co-owns the business with Kirk Worden, says it was time for the pizzeria to expand because it outgrew the old location.
“We just needed a larger location because we were getting busier. And it would be best for the customers to get into someplace with seating, and potentially get our liquor license,” he said. “We’re going to start the process to apply for it and get things moving in the direction.”
Zio’s offers a variety of pizzas, subs, sandwiches, chicken wings and some salad. But it has expanded the menu to include burgers and fries, poutine, lasagna and pasta dishes.
“We’re just trying to give a little bit extra. We’re not going to grow the menu too much. We have a few more Italian dishes, but we’re not going to go too big,” MacLean says.
The restaurant will still offer its pick-up and delivery services, but it will also have space for customers to enjoy the foot at the location.
“It’s nothing fancy. We’re sticking to the routine of recyclable containers and recyclable plates and dishes, and so on. You come in and order your food at the cash and then you can eat it inside or you can take it out,” MacLean says.
The restaurant opened in Fredericton about a year ago as a franchise of Zio’s Pizza in Moncton. MacLean says he’s grateful for the support the restaurant has received.
“We’re very thankful for the support of the community and hope we can grow according to their expectations.”
