Our Top 7 New Brunswick Stories So Far In 2018
In celebration of New Brunswick Day, we decided to look back at the seven most popular New Brunswick stories we’ve done so far this year.
Here they are, in reverse order:
7. “Jeremiah’s Deli Is Reopening in the Saint John City Market” (May 3, 2018)
When word got out that Jeremiah’s Deli in the Saint John City Market could be closed for good, people were not happy. But not long after, it was announced that a long-time employee and a new manager would be taking over the business. It was a good news story you guys loved reading.
6. “Welcome to Union Station: Holly and Ken Singh Buy Old Fire Station in Uptown Saint John” (Jan. 19, 2018)
There’s been lots of development happening in uptown Saint John over the last few years. So when Holly and Ken Singh announced their plans to renovate an old fire station on Union Street, it was met with a lot of excitement.
5. “The Trendy Saint John Cafe You Probably Don’t Know About” (June 6, 2018)
You guys loved reading about the little cafe in Saint John’s Enterprise Hub that would give the trendy coffee shops in Toronto a run for their money.

Who doesn’t love a new place to get a burg?
3. “Man Steals Sandwich Board, Receives Coffee Shop’s Brand Of Rogue Justice” (July 10, 2018)
This epic saga that played out on social media last month left people wanting to know what would happen next. The lesson of this story? Don’t steal things from small businesses (or like, anyone, really) or you could get put on blast in the most public and hilarious way possible.
2. “New Developer Buys Two ‘Crown Jewels’ of King Street in Uptown Saint John” (March 29, 2018)
It’s been a long time coming, but long-vacant 91 King Street in uptown Saint John was finally purchased this year by Roo Chang and Siobhán Riley, her daughter and business partner, back in March. You guys loved reading about what drew them to Saint John and their big plans for both 91 King Street and 22 King Street.
1. “Costco Announces It Will Open New Moncton Store This Fall” (May 11, 2018)
In May, Costco announced that it will open its new expanded warehouse and gas bar at the corner of Elmwood Drive and the TransCanada highway in the fall of this year. Really, this has been our most popular New Brunswick story so far in 2018. We do love our Costco.
