The Moose Is Getting a Makeover
SAINT JOHN– Canada’s oldest independent brewery is getting a new look.
On Tuesday Moosehead Breweries announced new packaging for its family of beers: Moosehead Lager, Moosehead Pale Ale, Moosehead Grapefruit Radler and Moosehead Light. The new look for the brand comes on the heels of the brewery’s 150th-anniversary celebrations last year.
“We have a century and a half of incredibly rich history, but for Moosehead, the best really is yet to come,” said Deanna Lichty, Moosehead’s senior director of marketing, in a release. “This new look is rooted in our history and heritage, but it’s very much about where we’re going next.”
The brewery says this will be the first time that the four core Moosehead brands will share a consistent look and feel. The new packaging was designed by Toronto-based design firm Art and Mechanical and will feature the brand’s signature moose.
“The moose is an incredible symbol of resilience,” said Lichty. “It isn’t just part of our name, it’s an icon that truly represents who we are as a brewery. An updated moose is undoubtedly the hero of the new design, featuring prominently on the Lager, Pale Ale and Moosehead Light labels.”
The new packaging will start being rolled out throughout the coming weeks. It comes as Moosehead gets ready to open its small batch brewery and taproom in June at its Saint John headquarters. The small batch brewery will feature a 20-barrel brewing system, allowing Moosehead the flexibility to create new recipes and explore various types and styles of beer.
