Tesla Will Build Network of Charging Stations for Electric Cars in N.B.
Electric car manufacturer Tesla is building a nationwide network of charging stations, including ones in Saint John, Moncton, Fredericton and Woodstock, the company recently announced.
The 100 new Canadian stations from Victoria, B.C. to Halifax will convert the current patchwork system in a coast-to-coast network. Overall, Tesla will increase the number of Superchargers in Canada from less 30 to nearly 120, most of them positioned along the TransCanada highway.
The car maker is bolstering its Canadian charging network as the mass-market Model 3 rolls out over the next year.

The company says the New Brunswick charging stations will be activated by late next year.
This will expand the number of charging stations available to New Brunswickers, who now have several options after NB Power and private sector partners opened their own network of charging stations on the province’s highway network.
Lynn Arsenault, VP of Customer Service at NB Power, said the announcement is good for Telsa car owners and good for the environment.
“The Tesla network of charging stations is great news for New Brunswickers considering a Tesla for their next vehicle,” said Arsenault. “These charging stations will complement NB Power’s eCharge Network of standard and fast-charging stations, making it easier and more convenient for New Brunswickers to save on fuel costs, while shrinking their carbon footprint.”
