Johanne Gallant, President and CEO of the Fredericton International Airport Authority, said the new flights to Ottawa, and also Toronto, are important additions for the Fredericton region, the home to both the provincial government and CFB Gagetown.
“This is fantastic news for our region, and we’re excited to welcome Porter to the Fredericton International Airport,” said Gallant. “As the capital city of New Brunswick and home to the second-largest military base in Canada, we have strong ties to Ottawa, and our vibrant business community will also benefit from the onward flight directly to Billy Bishop Airport in downtown Toronto.”
Fredericton Mayor Mike O’Brien says the new flight will be also valuable for business people and vacationers.
We are a dynamic and growing community with an increasingly busy airport. This is good for business, good for leisure travelers, good for our airport and good for central and western New Brunswick’s future,” said O’Brien.
