What NouLAB’s Amanda Hachey is Loving Today
In this series, we ask members of New Brunswick’s business community to share things they’re loving lately.
This week we asked Amanda Hachey, director of NouLAB:
“I am loving getting to know and spending time with a Syrian family we have been helping out since February 2016. Through the Family Connections Volunteer program with MAGMA in Moncton, we were matched with a young Syrian family. Helping them get settled, integrated, learn English, showing them around, welcoming a new baby to their family and being their friends has been one of the most rewarding experiences my partner Aaron and I have had in a long time. We get to see our community through their eyes, experience things like Halloween, fall colours, snow, etc. for the first time. They have also taught us a lot about their rich culture and how to appreciate the important things in life. We are blessed to have them in our lives and community.”
