New Brunswick’s Therma-Ray Finishes Big Project in NYC
FREDERICTON – Therma-Ray, a New Brunswick company that provides radiant heating solutions for commercial and residential customers, just finished a big project in the Big Apple.
The company provided its innovative heating solutions to the new Hyatt House Hotel in New York’s Chelsea neighbourhood.
The giant hotel, which offers stellar views of Manhattan, needed to find a way to provide comfortable heating for the rooms while not being too noisy or disrupting the views. Therma-Ray worked with the developers to create custom radiant heating panels. The panels are small enough to be hidden by the room’s window valance and will be virtually unnoticeable for guests.
Therma-Ray president Kevin Kilbride says the company has worked on big developments in New York before, but this one in particular is significant. He says working with a name like Hyatt helps give the company credibility. Also unlike many other projects, they got to work the hotel developers directly to create a solution.
“We’ve done a couple other projects with teams like this before, but we were never able to be as directly involved like we were able to do in this case, so that gives us credibility,” Kilbride told Huddle.
He says it also elevates radiant heating technology.
“It also gives the technology credibility as a different way to solving those kinds of problems,” Kildbride said. “For us, there’s the education portion of it and of course it lends us the credibility as a supplier of the products.”
The Hyatt House New York/Chelsea is expected to open next month.
