PLATO Testing Launches Training Course in British Columbia
VANCOUVER–PLATO Testing is beginning its expansion beyond New Brunswick with the first Aboriginal Software Tester training course in British Columbia.
Launched Oct. 3, the course is a result of a partnership between PQA Testing and the Native Education College (NEC). The course will train 14 Aboriginal people in software testing over the next six months, including four months in a classroom environment and two months of internship at PQA Testing or on client sites.
“Expansion into British Columbia allows us to bring meaningful employment to the urban Aboriginal demographic in the Vancouver area while better servicing our clients on the West Coast,” PLATO Testing president Denis Carignan said.
PQA Testing founded and launched PLATO Testing in Fredericton last year and has since been working towards providing opportunities and bringing IT work that is being offshored back to Canada.
“Along with our existing offices outside of Saint Mary’s, Eel Ground, Metepenagiag and Esgenoopetitj First Nations in New Brunswick and upcoming training courses planned in Quebec, Ontario and Saskatchewan, PLATO Testing’s reach is growing fast and making an immediate impact across Canada,” Carignan said.
