Elsipogtog Commercial Center to Celebrate Grand Opening
The grand opening of the new Elsipogtog Commercial Center, a complex that will house two community owned businesses with room for a third future rental property, is set to take place Friday.
The chief, council and community members of Elsipogtog expect the center to generate incremental traffic and interest from the surrounding areas because of its convenient location. The center will be home to Pharmasave Drug Store, the first of its kind owned and operated by a First Nation community, and River of Fire Market, a community focused grocery store.
The building is 17,100 square feet and is will employ more than 50 people. The center is expected to aid in building greater sustainability for the community and help progress toward long-term self-sufficiency
The project involved a number of partners including the Elsipogtog Chief and Council, Economic Development Project Management Team, Loblaw, Pharmasave Drugs Atlantic, Ryson Construction Ltd. and First for You Business Management Inc.
