Propel ICT’s Fall 2016 Demo Day Announced
HALIFAX – Propel ICT has announced the date of its fall Demo Day event.
Demo Day, where 36 Atlantic Canadian startups will pitch a room full of peers and potential investors, is taking place Nov. 29 in Halifax at Pier 21.
The event will feature the top companies that participated in Propel ICT’s pan-Atlantic Launch and Build accelerator programs. The companies presenting represent the best companies from this year’s cohorts. The 36 companies span the four Atlantic provinces, all of which participated in an extensive 12-week program to accelerate the growth of their company.
Propel ICT’s entrepreneur in residence Trevor MacAusland said the Halifax event will be unique since some of the companies are already growing and profitable.
“What’s interesting with the Build cohort is we got a couple companies who are already revenue positive. One company that’s already got 1,600 clients across the globe,” he said. “I would say that with this cohort, people coming to demo day might be surprised because it’ll be probably less emphasis on pitching for investment and more on people pitching for growth. That’s a little bit of a change and adjustment from what we’ve typically seen from Propel at our demo days before.”
MacAusland said the list of companies pitching will be announced in the coming weeks after the local demo days take place.
