Saint John Real Estate Agent’s License Revoked
SAINT JOHN—New Brunswick’s Financial and Consumer Services Commission today announced it has cancelled the licences of Gerald David Webster and Unity Realty Inc., which operated as Realty Executives Saint John, for refusing to comply with an order of the Director of Consumer Affairs related to his trust account.
Webster is also subject to a disciplinary hearing before the New Brunswick Real Estate Association.
Audits conducted by the NBREA and FCNB on Unity Realty’s trust account revealed irregularities. Webster appeared to have transferred monies that were in dispute out of his trust account without proper authorization. He had also not complied with an order of the NBREA to return the funds to his trust account.
Webster didn’t show up to a meeting with the FCNB’s Director of Consumer Affairs last month.
He was the sole manager of his agency located at 33 Hanover Street in Saint John. He can’t apply for a new license for at least one year.
The FCNB says it strongly encourages consumers who have a real estate listing with Webster to contact them with any questions they may have.
