Moncton’s Geneviève Lalonde Heading to the Olympics
MONCTON – One of New Brunswick’s own is heading to the Rio Summer Olympics.
It was announced on Monday that Moncton’s Geneviève Lalonde was named to Canada’s Olympic Team for track and field.
Naturally, she’s pretty excited.

Though it’s exciting, it was also expected. This season Lalonde broke the Canadian record in the 3,000 metre steeplechase. It would be outrageous NOT to have her on Team Canada.
The track and field competitions begin Aug. 12 and go until the Aug. 21, when the Olympics come to a close.
Best of luck, Geneviève! We’ll be cheering for you at home.
