Groupe Savoie to Add 40 New Jobs to its Workforce
SAINT-QUENTIN–Groupe Savoie plans to expand operations into block pallet production and increase its workforce by 40 new jobs through investment from provincial and federal governments.
Groupe Savoie currently has two sawmills, one pallet plant, one component plant, one pellet plant, and dry kilns in St-Quentin. They also have a component plant and a dry kiln in Kedgwick, a pallet production and recycling plant in Moncton and a sawmill in Westville, Nova Scotia. They currently employ around 600 people and ship a variety of hardwood product all over North America, Asia and Europe.
The Regional Development Corporation is contributing up to $1.1 million that will be used for improvements at two facilities, as well as for equipment and pallet production. Opportunities NB will contribute a payroll rebate of $500,00 and a $500,000 repayable loan.
