LuminUltra Continues to Grow, Add Positions as They Hit Global Markets
FREDERICTON–New Brunswick-based clean technology company LuminUltra Technologies has added eight new highly-skilled positions this year as it continues to grow to meet global demand.
Opportunities New Brunswick and LuminUltra representatives gathered today in Fredericton to highlight the company’s continued expansion and announce plans by ONB to provide a non-repayable contribution of up to $70,000 to the company in support of initiatives to accelerate sales worldwide.
“LuminUltra is an example of the many innovative and award-winning New Brunswick companies that prove we can compete internationally,” said Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries Minister Rick Doucet, who is also responsible for ONB.
“We are supporting them to expand their export markets, we’re supporting their innovation and growth. To diversify and grow our economy, we need to be firing on all fronts … we need to support our entrepreneurs and startups in every way we can.”
LuminUltra is a provider of microbiological testing solutions that help water utilities and multiple industries minimize risks associated with public health and equipment corrosion. As an export-driven company, 85 per cent of their total sales are outside of Canada and more than 99 per cent outside of Atlantic Canada.
“The support provided by Opportunities NB and its predecessors has been instrumental in getting LuminUltra to where it is today,” said Patrick Whalen, CEO of the company. “We look forward to working with them and other government agencies as we continue carrying out our mission of educating the global water sector on the risks posed by microorganisms in water and our vision of making LuminUltra a first line of defense against those risks.”
“We’ve been a fastest growing company according to Progress magazine for the past seven years. We’ve also been a top 101 company in Atlantic Canada for the last three … We are very appreciative of all the support.”
