New Brunswick Dominates Startup Canada Awards
The Startup Canada Awards have announced their winners for the Atlantic Region, and New Brunswick swiped up six of the nine categories.
Taking home the Startup Canada Entrepreneur of the Year Award was Introhive CMO David Alston. He also received the Enterprise Promotion award along with Peter Moreira, co-founder of Nova Scotia-based Entrevestor.
“I am so fortunate to interact with so many of the region’s amazing entrepreneurs on a regular basis. It truly fills my tank. The momentum in the entrepreneurial ecosystem has never been stronger and it continues to encourage others, of all ages and backgrounds, to consider taking the leap, shifting ideas into action,” Alston told Huddle.
“This movement combined with an open and supportive mentor network makes Atlantic Canada such a great place to be an innovator and entrepreneur.”
Andrea Feunekes, co-founder and CEO of Fredericton’s Remsoft took home the Adam Chowaniec Lifetime Achievement Award. Fredericton-based clothing line Wear Your Label took home the award for Sustainable Development and Ignite Fredericton received the award for Entrepreneurship Support. Moncton’s RtTech Software Inc. nabbed the award for Innovation.
