Air Canada Adds 80 Jobs To Saint John Call Centre
Air Canada and the provincial government announced 80 new jobs at the airline’s call centre in Saint John.
The centre provides sales, marketing, and customer service to customers.
Opportunities NB is providing up to $360,000 in payroll rebates over the next five years to support the new positions. The overall investment by the company and the government is expected to contribute $3.25 million annually to the province’s GDP once all the positions have been filled.
“Air Canada has a strong presence in the Province of New Brunswick and we are proud to announce today that our footprint has increased,” said Derek Vanstone, vice-president of corporate strategy and government affairs.
“The need for additional call centre agents is a direct result of our global growth. With the support of the New Brunswick government and the quality of the services provided by our call centre agents in both official languages, Saint John is a logical place to grow.”
In April 2014, Air Canada expanded their call centre by about 50 employees. The call centre now employs almost 270 people.
