New Brunswick Businesses Named to Canada’s Top 100 Employers
MONCTON – A few New Brunswick companies have been named in the list of Canada’s Top 100 Employers.
Now in its 18th year, Canada’s Top 100 Employers project is a national competition by Mediacorp Canada Inc. to determine which employers lead their industries in offering exceptional workplaces for their employees.
The three New Brunswick companies to make the list were Medavie Blue Cross, Irving Oil and the University of New Brunswick. The companies were rated based on a variety of factors such as their physical workplace; financial, health and family benefits; training and skills development and community involvement, among others.
“As a health care company, we’re only as strong as our employees. We have a long-term view to growing our business with an emphasis on doing what’s right for the organization, but always consider the benefits to our employees, clients and communities,” Medavie Blue Cross president Eric Laberge said in a release. “It’s an honour to receive this award to recognize the value we place on progress, wellness and collaboration.”
Irving Oil says that it will formally accept its award at the Top Employer Summit event taking place on Nov. 14, in Vancouver, B.C.
“Our people are our greatest asset and it’s thanks to their contributions and their hard work that we’re in a position to receive this honour,” said Irving Oil president Ian Whitcomb in a release. “We’re thrilled to be recognized alongside other great Canadian organizations, and we look forward to continuing to foster a positive and progressive workplace for our people.”
