Unemployment Up in New Brunswick in June
MONCTON – Unemployment in New Brunswick was up in June according to the latest numbers from Statistics Canada.
New Brunswick unemployment jumped to 10.3 per cent in June from 9.9 per cent in May
Statistics Canada also released seasonally adjusted, three-month moving average unemployment rates for major cities. In Moncton, unemployment remained the same at 7.4 per cent. However unemployment was down in Saint John with a rate to 7.9 per cent in June from 8.3 per cent in May.
Nationally, the unemployment rate went down slightly to 6.8 in June from 6.9 in May.
Though these numbers are positive, Statistics Canada says these figures are based on small statistical samples and may fluctuate widely.
