Two Companies Partnering to Bring Faster Internet to Atlantic Canadian Businesses
ATLANTIC CANADA – With Covid-19 making remote communication and fast internet more important than ever for businesses, two companies are teaming up to help give businesses in the region just that.
Quebec-based Adaptiv Networks has partnered with Atlantic Canadian company, Dramis Communications Solutions Ltd. to bring its high-quality internet connections to Atlantic Canadian businesses.
“Whether it be a restaurant or retailer or healthcare or a bank, [it] doesn’t really matter, as long as they rely on digital technologies. They need that that unbreakable access to the internet,” said CEO of Adaptiv Networks, Bernard Breton.
“So, really what the relationship is with Dramis is them using our technology and selling our technology and supporting our technologies with their customer base in the Atlantic provinces.”
Adpativ Networks develops the technology and then works with providers like Dramis Communications who will then service businesses with the technology.
Dramis Communications is a communications company that brings the latest technologies to businesses in a simplified, cost-effective way. They have offices in Moncton, Fredericton, Saint John, Halifax, and Newfoundland.
“I know that as a CEO of a Canadian business, I certainly look forward to working with more Canadian partners,” Breton said.
Breton said while the partnership was not entirely motivated by the pandemic, it made the partnership more relevant.
More businesses are using Teams and Zoom to communicate with staff and customers because of COVID-19, so delivering this technology to the Atlantic provinces was key.
But Breton said enabling businesses access to this internet technology is part of a digital transformation in the world today.
He used the example of a restaurant. Most restaurants have always used a menu printed on paper, servers, and cooks. But now, plenty of restaurants are switching to online menus using scannable QR codes and customers usually expect available WI-FI.
“Any business that is not thinking about digital transformation today is essentially a dead business,” Breton said.
Breton said he’s happy Dramis Communications has partnered with Adaptiv because they have similar focuses and it keeps the partnership in Canada.
“I think the Dramis Communications customer base is very aligned with the focus we have, but they certainly could have picked an American competitor of ours,” Breton said.
“I think there’s an element of being proud to be Canadian in there.”
