A few months after Yuk Yuk’s comedy club closed its doors uptown, the former owner has announced that he’s opening a new club to take its place.
The new cafe on Princess Street is employing low-income artists and serving coffee from local roaster Beamers Creek.
The women’s fashion boutique will open later this month at the former location of Ella The Shop at 101 Prince William Street.
The BunkHaus Hostel is now the BunkHaus Hostel + Cafe. Its lobby has been transformed to include more seating and a vibe that invites you to sit down and relax with a friend, or perhaps meet a new one from out of town.
The restaurant, which also has a location in Rothesay, opened uptown back in July. But a fire in early October forced the restaurant to close down for repairs.

Uptown Saint John is booming with many new residential and commercial developments in the areas close to King Street. As that area begins to fill up, developers and residents become more interested in a city centre that extends beyond the narrow boundaries of the first wave of developments.
Sarah and Caleb Jones say the new, much larger location in Uptown Saint John will showcase and help support 10 to 12 of the region’s top artists.
