Developer Percy Wilbur says external economic instability has necessitated changes to his plans for the King St. site.
Developer Percy Wilbur purchased 91 King Street — known to many as “the former Woolworth’s — and the building next to it in December.
After many false starts by developers that came before him, Percy Wilbur says he can transform the “old Woolworth’s building” into a residential complex, as he is doing on the old Gothic Arches site.
The former Woolworth’s building in uptown Saint John is listed with a sale price of $1.3 million.
FKLE Investments Inc. will be working with their engineers and architects to evaluate various options for the building at 91 King. They also purchased the building at 22 King Street.
The renovated building will have an underground parking garage and three floors of space ideal for a business like a restaurant, grocery store or a pharmacy.
