The provincial government announced sweeping new restrictions in the Halifax area today as cases in the region surged.
Several of the cases identified over the past few days have not yet been linked to travel outside the province or an existing case.
As of February 15, the province had administered 23,140 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. Of those, 8,225 were second doses.
Even without community spread in Nova Scotia, Dr. Robert Strang is increasingly worried about rising Covid-19 case counts across Canada and the rest of the world.
The province’s chief medical officer says the case is connected to a St. Patrick’s Day party that approximately 50 people attended, and stressed the importance of avoiding social gatherings.
