Saint John Airport Sets Traffic Record
SAINT JOHN–The Saint John Airport says that passenger traffic set a new record in 2015, breaking the previous record set the year before. Over 250,000 travellers passed through the Saint John airport last year, an increase of 1.3 per cent over 2014.
“We’ve worked closely with our primary airline partner Air Canada to improve the schedule and seat capacity from Saint John, and to establish equalized pricing between the three New Brunswick airports,”said Angela McLean, the airport’s interim president and CEO.
“When all of those factors are in place, there is no reason for local travellers to fly from anywhere other than Saint John,”
Sungwing Vacations traffic was part of the new record. Sunwing will soon start its tenth season from Saint John, with direct weekly flights and vacation packages to Mexico, Dominican Republic and Cuba. The airport says Sunwing will also soon offer direct flights to Orlando, Florida.
