Pür & Simple Opening In Saint John May 21
SAINT JOHN – A Quebec-based restaurant chain now has an opening date for its new Saint John location.
Breakfast and lunch restaurant Pür & Simple will be opening its doors on the city’s east side May 21.
This will be the brand’s third location in Atlantic Canada after opening a franchise in Moncton in March, with a location in Dieppe slated to open May 7. The 4,100-square-foot Saint John restaurant will be on 70 Consumers Drive in the strip mall beside Pizza Delight, across the parking lot from Walmart.
Christian Martin, the company’s area developer for Atlantic Canada says based on the response they’ve received on social media, residents are excited to give the restaurant a try.
“We think that the public is ready for a new concept like ours. With the photos [we’ve shared] and everything, people are excited,” said Martin in an interview with Huddle. “A lot of people are anxious for us to open.”
Pür & Simple is a competitor to the popular breakfast chain Cora. For breakfast, they serve things like French toast, omelets, and eggs benedict. Burgers, sandwiches, soups, salads, and entrees like chicken skillet will be on the menu for lunch.
It also serves smoothies, specialty coffees, and fruit juices, as well as various gluten-free options. The restaurant recently added alcoholic drinks like mimosas, Bailey’s in coffee, wines, and local beers at its Moncton location, with the Saint John location to follow suit.
Martin says what makes Pür & Simple stand out from the competition is prices, quantity, and quality.
“The food in our restaurant is for the same price or lower, you get a bigger quantity and better quality, and the presentation is something we thrive to succeed at,” he said.
The restaurant also changes its menu every six months, so there’s lots of variety along with the staples.
“We try to offer something new to our customers, like keto plates, vegan plates. We follow the trends for sure,” said Martin.
The company has been franchising for more than a year. In Atlantic Canada, it aims to have 10 locations in 2019. After the Saint John location opens, the company will work on opening its Edmundston, Halifax, and Bathurst locations. They also have a franchisee interested in opening a location in Fredericton near the end of this year.
“It puts us around seven locations this year,” said Martin. “And we still have time to sell a few more locations and open them this year, but so far that’s where we’re at.”
