Tha Canadian Brewing Awards is Canada’s only national competition for judging the quality of Canadian manufactured beer and ciders. The Awards invites Canadian majority-owned breweries and cideries to compete. The submitted brews undergo a “Beer Judge Certification Program” sanctioned blind tasting from which the winning beers and ciders will be chosen in over 60 categories. A Canadian Brewing Award medal is a widely recognized symbol of Canadian brewing excellence.
Pumphouse’s Muddy River Stout is named after the Petitcodiac River, known by locals as the “Chocolate” or “Muddy River.” At 4.5 per cent, the brewery boasts the beer as a “full, velvety, deep brown oatmeal stout” that floods the senses with “roasted malt, espresso and chocolate flavours.”
