The Pump House Brewery’s New Fill Station Introduces Moncton to Crowlers
Moncton is getting in on the growler and crowler scene with The Pump House Brewery’s new fill station.
Located on Mill Road, the fill station and tap room opened for business last Wednesday at the brewery’s packaging location, which is also the former site of the Barnyard BBQ restaurant.
The new location will allow visitors to have 1.89-litre growlers and crowlers, oversized cans with approximately half the capacity of a growler, filled with both Pump House beers and brews from other local craft breweries. Visitors can either take their beer to go or enjoy a drink on-site.

Co-owner Lilia Fraser says the new location is unique from what they’re already doing with The Pump House Restaurant.
“You can get anything from tap and take it out and we’re hoping to feature some guest taps from local microbreweries we have in town,” she says. “It’ll also be a merchandise store.”
Fraser says they’ve also been approved for a winery license and will be eventually be rolling out Pump House wine at the fill station. She says they’re pursuing craft distilling as well and hope to be selling distilled products, which she says could be vodka, gin, whiskey, rum or brandy, by the end of the year.
While they didn’t do any significant advertising to let people know about the new location, Fraser says the interest has been strong.
“People are coming in already, purchasing the products and enjoying the beer and it’s been great so far,” she says.
“So far we’ve had great reviews from people coming who are saying ‘we’ve been waiting for this for so long.’ During the renovation time, people kept coming up and asking ‘when are you guys open.’”
