Podcast: Charlottetown A Model Of Success For Other Atlantic Canadian Communities
Charlottetown is the fastest growing city in Atlantic Canada – by nearly 10 percent since the last census. This growth has not been an accident and is based on good planning and strategy as well as close collaboration with the various public agencies involved in economic development including the Port Authority, the Greater Charlottetown Development Corporation and the Downtown Business Inc.
On this week’s episode of the Huddle “Insights” podcast, Don Mills and David Campbell chat with former four-term Mayor Clifford Lee, who offers many insights for other communities wishing to emulate Charlottetown’s success.
This is the second in a series of conversations with the leaders of successful Maritimes communities. Last week, Don and David spoke with Halifax Mayor Mike Savage about the incredible growth in his city during his time in office.

The “Insights” podcast combines the experiences of an economist, David Campbell, and a social scientist, Don Mills, to explore the challenges and opportunities facing Atlantic Canada, to promote data-driven decision-making among policymakers, and to encourage a wider dialogue and debate leading to greater prosperity for the region.
“Insights” is part of a Huddle podcast network that also features Home Office, hosted by Huddle editor Mark Leger.
