New Brunswick’s Francis McGuire Named New ACOA President
OTTAWA– Former Major Drilling president Francis McGuire has been named the new president of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau formally made the announcement on Wednesday. McGuire will be taking over the role from Paul LeBlanc, who has recently retired.
McGuire holds a Master of Arts in International Studies, Trade and Economics from Johns Hopkins University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from Dalhousie University. From 2000 to 2015 he serves as president of Major Drilling. Prior to that, he was vice-president of marketing and business development at MITI Information Technology Inc. McGuire has also previously served as the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Tourism for the Government of New Brunswick.
McGuire starts his new position June 12.
