New Brunswick Companies at Demo Day: Hit the Road App
With Propel ICT’s Demo Day coming up later today in Halifax, we’re chatting with the New Brunswick companies who will be pitching at the Marriott Harbourfront.
Today we chat with Troy Johnston, founder of Hit the Road App.
What’s your pitch?
Hit the Road App is a software that can be used by any organization that is tasked with the management of infrastructure, whether they are a private company, a municipality, or a government agency. The amount of assets that must be maintained, repaired and managed is staggering and having accurate data in real time is paramount.
The software uses cellular-enabled tablets and cloud-based storage to keep employees in the field connected to employees in the office. A deficiency found in the field can be geotagged for location accuracy and sent to a work crew for repair or a supervisor for scheduling with the click of a button in real time.
Just imagine the possibilities. No more missed deadlines due to an inaccurate location, bad data or lost notebook. All the data collected is stored and backed up on a cloud and available to anyone at any time from anywhere. All that is required is authorization, a computer and an internet connection. Welcome to the future.
What’s your story?
Hit the Road App Inc was founded by [myself]. I work as the quality manager for a company that manages a section of four-lane highway in New Brunswick. The software came out of a necessity to find a solution to a number of issues [I] was experiencing daily in [my] job. When you describe the pain you feel with infrastructure management issues, [I] can relate and have probably had the same issue at one time or another.
What’s next for you?
Hit the Road App is proud to be a presenter at Regional Demo Day in Halifax. We are working tirelessly to prepare our software for the release of our base modules to an early adopter, [my] employer, MRDC Operations Corporation. We are also seeking other organizations who can benefit from our software and look forward to meeting and listening to anyone interested in improving the way they take care of their infrastructure.
