NB Liquor And Cannabis NB Reduce Operating Hours
FREDERICTON – At least they’re not closing down entirely like they are in Prince Edward Island.
NB Liquor and Cannabis NB is shortening its operating hours effective Sunday, shortly after the province announced a state of emergency due to the coronavirus pandemic.
While the stores will operate on regular hours (10 a.m. to 9 p.m.) on Saturday, March 21, they will close on Sundays until further notice, the crown corporations said in a release Friday.
Starting March 23, stores will open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Monday through Saturday.
The changes are made to ensure that staff can properly clean the store, and shelves are stocked. It’s also to make sure that staff “have a chance to take care of themselves and their families,” the release said.
“Our first priority at ANBL and Cannabis NB remains the health and safety of our teams and customers and we are taking significant preventive measures to ensure this,” according to the release.
In addition to the schedule change, ANBL and Cannabis NB also ask customers to “respect social distancing while in our stores to protect themselves and our team members.”
The crown corporations said it will make necessary changes as the situation develops.
“ANBL and Cannabis NB takes their responsibilities as a trusted retailer very seriously and will continue to act on the advice of public health officials and to manage our network to best serve our customers in a safe and healthy environment,” the release said.
