Inside Dieppe’s Newest Co-Working Space La Place
DIEPPE – La Place, a co-working space at 200 Champlain St., has opened and 60 per cent of its office space is already rented.
Located on the second floor of Place 1604, the Adelin Properties-owned hub hosts the offices of Avenir Audiology and Viminio, among others.
“We had a large office here that we were having a hard time renting to a bigger company, and we kept being approached by people who just needed one office or two offices, or just a smaller area to work. To fit those needs, we just started dividing it into different companies and we found that the demand is very high,” says La Place’s community manager Olivia Steeves.
“People tend to be in smaller companies now. There are a lot more entrepreneurs around, there are a lot more smaller teams and our offices are really fitting those needs.”
The co-working hub includes 18 offices, two meeting rooms, a conference room, desk spaces, a kitchen and a hall. The offices range in price between $700 and $1,000 a month, depending on the size. Hot desking memberships, which means members can come in and use a free desk to work for the day, costs $250 a month.
There’s also the option for dedicated desks, which allows members to use the same desk every time they work there, and large, connected tables ideal for startups with small teams.
All members have 24/7 access to the centre using swipe cards. They also have access to the meeting rooms, printing services and coffee.
“We let people know that we’re very flexible, you don’t need to sign for a year, but as of right now, all people have signed for at least a year,” Steeves said.
La Place offers a modern co-working concept focused on a collaborative environment, allowing for lasting relationships between people from various sectors and an entrepreneurial community.
The co-working hub is open to the community from June 3-7, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Reporters were invited to tour the centre on Tuesday. Here’s a look inside:
