Fredericton Celebrates Best of Business With Annual Awards
FREDERICTON– The best and brightest of Fredericton’s business community were celebrated Thursday night at the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce‘s annual Business Excellence Awards.
The awards recognize outstanding achievement in business and community involvement, awards were presented in eight categories.
This year’s sold out event took place at the Delta Fredericton with around 400 attendees.
“It is a chance for local business to celebrate our individual and collective successes as well as an opportunity to step back from the day-to-day grind and appreciate what we have to offer as a community,” said Keir Clark, chamber past president and chairperson of the 2018 awards selection committee, in a release.
This year’s winners are:
- Resilience Award: Hotspot Parking
- Not-For-Profit Organization Award: Meals on Wheels
- Small Business Award: Gallery 78
- Leadership Through Business Award: Taylor Printing Group
- Medium Business Award: Stewart McKelvey
- Start-up Award: Bowman’s Pharmasave
- Large Business Award: The Learning Bar
- Business Person of the Year Award: Bob Hatheway
“We celebrate Small Business Week annually by holding our award event to highlight the impact that businesses of all sizes have in our community and to celebrate success and inspire other businesses in their entrepreneurial path,” said Fredericton Chamber of Commerce CEO Krista Ross.
“As a community, we all benefit from a strong business environment, one of the reasons our organizational vision is ‘Stronger Community Through Business Prosperity.’ Events such as this are important because it gives us a chance to celebrate success – as a business community, we need to a better job of promoting our successes – and ensuring that the community as a whole has a chance to understand the impact that business has on the community.”
