Dieppe Is Getting A 75-Unit Mixed-Use Apartment Building On The Riverfront
DIEPPE – Site work has begun for a seven-storey apartment building on Acadie Avenue, on the riverfront across from the Home Hardware store. The building will also have a commercial component on the ground floor.
“The main floor is commercial or retail. [The developer was] talking about a restaurant or coffee shop, that’s still up in the air. But they’re in talks,” said Denis Arsenault, president and founder of the building’s lead designer, Spitfire Design.
The commercial space, which spans 12,000 square feet, would be ideal for office space as well, he said.
Called Promenade Neuf, the building will include 75 apartment units. Seventy-five per cent of them will be two-bedroom units.
“The various suite layouts, ranging from 870-square-foot one-bedroom to 1,760-square-foot two bedrooms + den, will cater to both young professionals and retired couples looking to sell their home,” Arsenault said.
The building will have amenities including a gym, a common meeting room, hotel suite for tenant rental, bike storage, wash bay for vehicles, electric vehicle charging stations, main-level and underground parking, security cameras, secure entry system and a package delivery system.
“[The developer is] looking for a more modern, contemporary [building] and they also want to infuse a little bit of the local surrounding architecture,” he said, referring to the brick component in the design that reflects bricks present on other buildings on Champlain Street.
The building’s developer is TriQuest Investments. Amico Construction is building it.
It has a 20-month construction schedule and is expected to open in December next year.
