Beauceron Launches Nationwide Cybersecurity Awareness Program
FREDERICTON – Local company Beauceron Security is helping the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce (CCC) launch a cybersecurity awareness program nationwide for employees of small and medium-sized businesses.
Using Beauceron Security’s innovative cloud-based risk-management platform, the training and awareness program will be made available to members through their local chambers of commerce.
“Fredericton has leveraged decades of experience in information technology to become a worldwide cybersecurity leader and we are so proud that Fredericton chamber member Beauceron Security has been the company chosen to provide the training to businesses from coast to coast through and Canadian Chamber of Commerce and CIRA,” said Krista Ross, CEO of the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce.
The Fredericton Chamber of Commerce has come forward as an early adopter of launching the program, making the platform available to all of its members.
“We know that many of our 1000+ members will be taking part in this new Chamber Benefit program to provide the training their staff need to keep their businesses and not for profit’s secure and safe,” said Ross.

Beauceron Security’s platform provides employees of an organization with an interactive cybersecurity training course and phishing tests. It is fully automated without the need for management.
A particularly interesting feature of the course is its phishing test technology that sends employees emails impersonating real-life phishing scams.
“If you only do a lunch and learn once every couple of years, what happens when that phishing email comes in six months later?” said Jon Lewis, product marketing specialist at CIRA during a webinar with some Fredericton Chamber members. “Are they going to remember that information? Chances are they won’t.”
This development comes at an exciting time for Beauceron, which continues to grow across Canada. Now a multi-million dollar company, Beauceron’s platform is being used by many customers ranging from small and medium-sized businesses to large banks, telecommunications firms, and governments.
David Shipley, CEO of Beauceron, said the relationship with CIRA has gone “tremendously well.”
“CIRA does a wonderful job addressing the public sector,” Shipley said. “Schools, hospitals, and small and medium-size businesses that we don’t directly target with our own sales team so it’s a very complementary relationship.”
Beauceron’s interface is becoming more and more familiar to employees around the province and internationally. Beginning in 2017 with two full-time and three part-time staff, Beauceron has grown to have a staff of 27.
“We’ve got more than 230 customers,” said Shipley. “More than 400,000 people use our technology and CIRA’s been a big part of our growth.”
