City Council Votes To Keep Saint John Energy

Greg Norton cited the benefit of lower than average power rates and the utility’s flexibility as reasons not to part with the energy provider.
The mixed-use building in uptown Saint John will have six floors, including commercial space on the ground floor, and 32 residential units.
The new measures will help bring in temporary foreign workers to aid the farming and fishery industries.
While the provincial government and individual universities have announced one-time payments for students, there has yet to be a longer-term solution proposed for new grads entering the workforce.
“Rise Up SJ” hopes to mitigate the negative economic impacts, while also building up to prepare for recovery once the pandemic is over.
As of April 6, no commercial flights will fly in or out of the Saint John airport until at least the end of April.
The Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation’s COVID-19 relief fund was established at the outset of the outbreak, as schools were beginning to close, and social restrictions were first being implemented.
