Area 506 Wants More Vendors and Musicians to Join Their ‘Container Village Family’
SAINT JOHN– The Area 506 Festival looking for any interested brands, cultural groups, musicians, vendors and volunteers who want to participate in this summer’s event.
The festival will once again be held on the Saint John waterfront over the New Brunswick Day long weekend, August 4-5. A big part of the festival is its shipping container village, where New Brunswick businesses, brands and groups set up shop for the weekend near the main music stage.
“One of our goals for this year’s festival is to create a melting pot of positivity in our shipping container village,” said founder and chairperson Ray Gracewood in a release.
“In 2017 we had over 50 participants in the vendor village creating amazing ‘Made in New Brunswick’ experiences. We want to continue to build on that atmosphere, so the next six weeks are crucial to see who might be interested in joining the Area 506 container village family.”
Last year’s participants included local, entrepreneurial ventures like Chenna Baree Shoes, Pension Clothing and Dioné Cosmetics to larger, well known New Brunswick brands such as Sabian Cymbals, Moosehead Breweries and True North Salmon Company. Artists and cultural groups St. Mary’s First Nations, Atlantic Cirque and Scottish Highland Dance also participated.
“There are just so many different aspects of our province,” says Gracewood. “We’d love to have applications from anyone interested in showing the rest of New Brunswick what’s special about their town, personal background or cultural interests.”
Those interested in becoming involved are encouraged to apply on the festival’s website.
