Podcast: David Myles On Making Music And Hosting A Talk Show From His Hometown Fredericton
Mark Leger is a big fan of David Myles, going back to Mark’s time at home with his kids when they were younger. They would battle over what music they played and the kids always got their way with tunes from shows like Barney the Dinosaur and The Wiggles. But Mark eventually won them over with Canadian singer-songwriters like Dan Mangan and Maritimers Jessica Rhaye and Dave Gunning. But they loved David, with his hits like Inner Ninja and Don’t Drive Through, most of all.
Well, Mark got a chance to interview David on the “Home Office” podcast, something his kids were pretty excited about.
Myles moved home from Halifax at the same time touring was slowing down during the pandemic. He tells Mark that it allowed him to reconnect with his community and spend more time with his family. But he has nonetheless stayed active in the music business, releasing one album, Leave Tonight, and is getting ready to put out another. He’s also launched Myles From Home, a live talk show on YouTube that features interviews with leaders in the Canadian cultural scene like Tom Power of the CBC radio show, Q, and musician Alan Doyle.
