Creatives And Entepreneurs Will Collaborate To Find HR Solutions In Dieppe
DIEPPE – Expansion Dieppe, which works on economic development in the city, will host the fourth annual Innovatium in-person and online on October 29.
Innovatium is a networking event and forum “in which we are joined together, the business community with the artistic community, to give them a different approach to training,” said Expansion Dieppe executive director Louis Godbout.
“What we were trying to do here is we’re getting them to live and actively participate in solutions to bring innovative approaches to their businesses,” he said.
This year’s forum focuses on human resources management during and post-pandemic, facilitated among others by entertainment company Productions l’Entrepôt and business management consultancy NuFocus Strategic Group. Entrepreneurs will share their experiences, and HR specialists will help managers and business owners figure out why an approach may or may not work.
“We’re going to be putting [the entrepreneurs] right into the environment in which they’re in, and we’re gonna be pulling that to extremes so that they can look at what they can offer in terms of solutions,” Godbout says.
“So we’re getting entrepreneurs to think together and to discuss options and experiences together, but having the art industry there to make sure that we get to the point of having that done in a very creative fashion, and also that we get the goal of transferring knowledge to them.”
This year, with many logistic and physical changes done within businesses due to Covid-19 restrictions, Expansion Dieppe wants to help entrepreneurs figure out how that could impact staff management in the long run. The aim is for entrepreneurs and managers to be able to apply the concepts they learned at Innovatium to their business quickly.
Participants can choose to participate in-person or online this year, though the ticket prices remain at just under $38 for both options. A gift bag of local products will be given to those who purchase tickets before October 23.
Those attending in person will have to wear a mask to access or move around the Wingate Hotel. Only a limited amount of people will be allowed to attend in person.
Those choosing to attend via Zoom will be able to take advantage of discussions in breakout rooms, before joining the rest of the attendees.
This year, the event is sponsored by Assumption Life, National Bank, Business Development Bank of Canada, Boudreau Albert Savoie, McIntyre Finn, and the province’s Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour.
The event will be delivered in French.
