Province To Work With Irving Oil Employees Who Lost Their Jobs
SAINT JOHN – The provincial government says it will work closely with the employees recently laid off by Irving Oil.
Last week’s announcement of 250 Irving Oil employees primarily affects employees in New Brunswick.
In a release, Social Development Minister Dorothy Shephard said the government was committed to helping out the employees recently laid off by Irving Oil.
A statement from the social development minister said their thoughts are with those in the community affected by the layoffs.
“We are thinking about the employees, their families and members of the Saint John community who are affected by Irving Oil’s recently announced layoffs,” the statement read.
Working NB and Opportunities NB will help connect the citizens with employers over the next few weeks.
