HotSpot Now Available For Long-Term Parking At Fredericton Airport
FREDERICTON — Parking long-term at the Fredericton International Airport will be a bit more convenient now thanks to a local startup.
The airport announced on Thursday that it’s partnered with HotSpot to provide a new contactless payment solution for parking in the airport’s long-term parking lot.
The project, which allows people to use the HotSpot app for payment as an alternative to the traditional ticket-based parking, was begun last year as part of the airport’s ongoing commitment to improving services.
But with the current Covid-19 pandemic and overall air travel down, they say the project became even more important to travellers to choose a method of payment that does not require physical contact with machines or paper.
“This new parking option helps to further ensure the health of people who come to our airport for essential travel by further reducing the touchpoints within the airport,” said airport authority president and CEO Johanne Gallant in a release.
“With this app, you don’t need to take a ticket or insert your credit card into the machine. It’s an innovative solution, and we’re pleased to be supporting this tremendous local startup company.”
HotSpot CEO Phillip Curley is excited to partner with their “hometown” airport.
“HotSpot is uniquely positioned to assist in providing contactless solutions for critical businesses,” he said. “We are grateful to be a part of such a strong community and look forward to future travel to and from YFC as they continue to enhance the experiences of people traveling into and out of Fredericton.”
Passengers can download HotSpot app on the Google Play or Apple App store and find more information on parking options on the airport’s website.
