Kent Store Moving To Newly Named ‘Moncton Street’
MONCTON – City Council has approved JD Irving’s request for the creation of a new public road off of Mapleton that would lead to the current Day and Ross trucking terminal, which city planner Bill Budd says was recently purchased by JDI.
A new Day and Ross terminal will be built in the Caledonia Industrial park while the current facility will be demolished to build a new 100 thousand square foot Kent store.
‘Moncton street’, a name selected by JDI from the city’s name bank, will head east from Cabella and Mapleton.
Budd says the creation of the new road will provide better public access to the site.
He says turning the service road that currently leads to the site is a first step in developing the subdivision.
The new building supply store will replace the existing Kent on Trinity drive, no word yet on the future of the current location.
