Halifax’s Volta Launches Corporate Membership Program
HALIFAX– Volta, a startup hub based in Halifax, is launching a new Corporate Membership program to better connect organizations with its community of innovators.
The announcement comes as Volta prepares to officially open its new 60,000 sq. ft. space in the heart of Halifax’s Innovation District.
“Organizations in Atlantic Canada tend to be in the early stages of their innovation journeys – Volta’s Corporate Membership program will help them build capabilities, connect with talent, spark new ideas and accelerate growth,” said Chris Crowell, Volta’s vice-president of corporate innovation, in a news release.
Volta is currently home to over 30 startup companies and Atlantic Canada’s only Corporate Innovation Outpost program. It’s Corporate Membership packages are designed to suit the needs of companies at all levels. Benefits include Network Memberships for employees, tickets to premium Volta events like Volta Cohort, complimentary and discounted skill development and learning opportunities, as well as an “ecosystem education program” and “ecosystem advisor” to act as the Corporate Member’s dedicated account manager.
“Volta’s Corporate Membership packages offer a lot of value for companies in our business community,” said Crowell. “They provide a way to engage with startups, experience the high growth capacity of our ecosystem, and develop the methodologies and mindsets needed to innovate.”
Volta has also created a special “Out-of-Towner” membership for organizations not currently operating in the region.
“Momentum in the East Coast innovation ecosystem is drawing interest from organizations outside of the region,” said Crowell. “We have companies from Toronto, Ottawa and elsewhere looking towards Atlantic Canada to see where there are opportunities for them here. Our Out-of-Towner package is a way for them to stay informed and get started locally.”
