Giant Tiger To Open At Riverview Mall On Saturday
RIVERVIEW – Retailer Giant Tiger is set to open its third location in the Greater Moncton Area at the Riverview Shopping Mall on Saturday.
“We are always looking for new communities to call home and we believe that the new store will be a great addition to the town of Riverview,” Cassandra Estrade, Giant Tiger’s community and events associate, told to Huddle via e-mail.
This is another sign of revival for the mall after Tech Mahindra announced a new call centre for over 200 employees there earlier this week.
At that announcement on Wednesday, Riverview Mayor Ann Seamans hinted at Giant Tiger’s opening as something that would stimulate the town’s economy and bring back life to the mall.
“One of the things about this former mall, the Riverview Place, is the west-end of town was a little slower and we have this announcement today and another opening on Saturday. That’s bringing life to the west-end of Riverview also, so that’s all very exciting,” she said.
The Giant Tiger store will span 22,000 square feet and have around 30 full-time and part-time staff. It will offer goods similar to those carried in the retailer’s other locations.
“As a Canadian community proud retailer with 240 stores across Canada, we are always trying to find new communities to call home. We are committed to provide on-trend family fashions, groceries and everyday needs at the lowest prices possible,” Estrade said.
“We will continue to offer a large assortment of casual clothing and footwear for the entire family including our private label brands such as Mountain Ridge, River 61, Lily Morgan, My Style and ACX Active. Our grocery section carries the Giant Value brand and the new Riverview store will have a fresh meat section,” she added.
The grand opening on Saturday will include a charitable barbecue for the Boys and Girls Club of Riverview, as well as a sampling of Giant Value products, giveaways, face painting and appearances by the retailer’s mascot.
Giant Tiger has 240 locations Canada-wide, including 11 in New Brunswick.
