Hey Ladies! This Show’s For You.
SAINT JOHN – Unless you’re stuck in the last century, tech and trades aren’t just for the boys anymore.
That’s what the provincial government hopes to drive home in its second annual Trades and Tech Trade Show on Wednesday, Oct 21.
The show will promote and showcase career opportunities for women in sectors where they have been traditionally under-represented. The goal is to give women and girls a chance to learn about opportunities they may not have previously considered. They will get the chance to meet other women in tech and trade industries.
“Our government is committed to creating the conditions for economic growth so that there are more jobs for all New Brunswickers,” said Premier Brian Gallant, who is also the minister responsible for women’s equality. “Engaging women to participate in non-traditional careers will help build a workforce that has the skills that employers are looking for. Maximizing the potential of New Brunswick women is good for equality, our families and our entire province.”
The show takes place from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the NBCC Saint John Campus. Those interested in attending are asked to contact Kate McLean at [email protected] or to call 1-877-253-0266.
