A Sneak Peek at Canada’s New $10 Note
Like any other birthday, you can’t go wrong with money as a gift.
So, to commemorate Canada’s 150th birthday, the Bank of Canada announced a new bank note that will available at financial institutions starting on June 1. But, lucky for us, New Brunswick is getting a sneak peek at it Wednesday at the Saint John City Market.
Check it out:
So shiny. So fancy. So full of meaning.
The note visited both Moncton and Fredericton last week. Monique LeBlanc, regional director at the Atlantic regional office for the Bank of Canada, says the bank has been holding public events throughout the country to raise awareness of the new notes and educate Canadians on how they can get their hands on one this summer. Only 40 million copies have been made, roughly one for each Canadian.
The note features special design elements that celebrate Canada’s history, culture and land. It also has some pretty cool new security features.
The bank note will be on display at the Saint John City market until 1 p.m. Wednesday.
